Rockets Star Kevin Durant Shoots His Shot at NFL Host Kay Adams in Viral Clip

In a shocking development, Houston Rockets superstar seemed to invite NFL host Kay Adams to what sounded like a date during their interview.

A relatively quiet offseason in the NBA was the backdrop of a blockbuster trade between the Houston Rockets and the Phoenix Suns. After spending less than three full years with the franchise, Kevin Durant was making his way to a new location, this time to a legitimate championship contender as the Rockets. As the clear-cut veteran presence on a youthful roster, Durant has a chance to cement his legacy and lead the group to the promised land.

At 37, it is one of the few accomplishments left on his resume, with Houston offering an ideal chance to flip that narrative for the four-time scoring champion. For years, Durant has focused solely on the game itself, sparking numerous debates about his leadership role. However, those conversations have also encroached on his personal space, with the lack of a love life becoming increasingly apparent.

Kevin Durant Takes Public Interest in Kay Adams

After his engagement with WNBA star Monica Wright ended in 2014, Durant chose to remain extremely quiet about his personal life. Additionally, he has made it clear on several occasions that he doesn’t want to pursue any romantic engagements.

Which is what made his interview with Kay Adams all the more shocking. Ahead of the 2025 NBA season, the one-time MVP sat down with the former host of Good Morning Football.

During the conversation, there was a noticeable interest from the superstar power forward, who went so far as to invite her to a game. “If you come down to Houston, which I’m expecting you to come to a game.”

As he left his request open-ended, Adams denied his request, claiming he had ignored her the last time she was in attendance. However, Durant had a readymade excuse, claiming he was injured at the moment.

When she caught him red-handed by revealing that she’d told him about her presence, the 6-foot-11 star tried to wiggle his way out of the predicament with a proposition. “Moving on to the next season, I’ll see you at one of these games in Houston.”

However, he went a step forward beyond an invitation to the game, adding, “We’ll go for barbecue down in Texas when we get out of there, all right?” Durant may have been trying to make up for his earlier mistake.

However, without the internet, it would have been clearly seen as an advance, and it didn’t take long for the clip to go viral. Houston, we might have a love story.
