Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard was treating Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game round-robin tournament like a homecourt game. Leonard was simply lights-out for Team USA Stripes against Team World.
While Leonard did score seemingly at will against Team World, that didn’t happen against Team USA Stars. In the end, Leonard wasn’t too impressive against that team in two games.

Kawhi Leonard Shooting Lights Out at NBA All-Star Game
In Team USA Stripes’ 48-45 win over Team World, Leonard scored 31 points to lead his team.
Leonard also sank what amounted to the game-winning 3-pointer, too, getting congratulations from teammate LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers after his shot went down. Leonard was 6-for-7 beyond the arc, too.

SiriusXM NBA Radio host Rob Perez was watching the action on NBC and Peacock. He, too, was amazed at what Leonard did in his team’s second game. Perez posted on X, “One of the best All-Star performances you’ll see, in a game where the players are actually trying. Kawhi Leonard goes for 31 in a single quarter.”

NBA Central’s account on X also showed Leonard’s game-winning 3-pointer and posted, “KAWHI IS ON FIRE”. NBA on NBC’s announce team of Noah Eagle, Reggie Miller, and Jamal Crawford were simply admiring Leonard’s play.
Awful Announcing’s account on X posted, “‘KAWHI LEONARD! HE IS SCORCHING!’ Noah Eagle, Reggie Miller, and Jamal Crawford have the NBA All-Star Game call for NBC.”

In Team USA Stripes’ earlier 42-40 victory over Team USA Stars, Leonard only scored five points in 10 minutes of playing time. The games in the round-robin tournament were 12-minute quarters, so Leonard pretty much played all game long here.
But in the championship game, Leonard scored only one point as Team USA Stars, made up of younger NBA players, captured the NBA All-Star Game round-robin tournament title with a convincing 47-21 win. Leonard played all 12 minutes of the quarter-length contest.
How is Leonard shooting in the regular season? Well, Leonard is averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, and shooting 49.1% from the floor. Leonard put his team on his back on Sunday, helping Team USA Stripes reach the championship game in the NBA All-Star Game round-robin tournament.
