Karl-Anthony Towns Warns Knicks Teammates of Celtics’ Hunger To Win Ahead of Game 2 Clash

Karl-Anthony Towns urges Knicks to stay sharp as Celtics aim to bounce back strong in Game 2 after a wild OT loss in Game 1 thriller.

It was gritty, chaotic, and pure playoff madness. The New York Knicks clawed back from a massive deficit to pull up a huge upset on the Boston Celtics, that too in overtime.

A 108-105 W in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal clash. But even when the dust in Madison Square Garden hasn’t quite settled, Karl-Anthony Towns is already looking at the storm ahead. Because if there’s one thing he knows, it’s that the defending champs won’t stay down for long.

Towns Praises Knicks, but Sends a Wake-Up Call

Towns was locked in during the game, and dropped 14 points and pulled down 13 boards in the clutch win. But he didn’t hold back when breaking down the vibe in the locker room postgame. “Of course you winning a game makes you feel good. Just as quick as you win a game, you could lose the next one.” He said, reflecting on how New York rallied back despite foul trouble, momentum shifts, and some tough calls.

With Boston holding the title belt, Towns knows Game 2 is going to be a different beast. “This [Celtics] team is special,” He said. “Obviously defending champions, and they’re gonna come back hungrier and even execute at a higher level.”

That’s a clear warning to his squad: don’t get too comfy.

And that’s the message, this one ain’t over. Not even close.

Knicks Stayed Locked In Despite Chaos, But It’ll Get Harder

Let’s be real, this wasn’t a picture-perfect W for New York. Boston had this thing on ice before the Knicks started chipping away late in the 3rd. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had solid stretches, but New York’s defense cranked up late, contesting just about everything, switching smart, and hustling on every board.

Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson both dealt with foul issues, and Towns himself had to navigate some physical play in the paint. Still, the Knicks just didn’t quit. And the way the team stuck together during the ending moments of Game 1, that could be the real game-changer here.

Nonetheless, that energy needs to be even stronger in Game 2 because Boston isn’t gonna hand over another one, especially not at home.

New York will head into Wednesday night’s matchup looking to keep that edge and possibly steal a 2-0 lead before bringing the series back to the Garden. But with the Celtics licking their wounds and likely scheming up some serious revenge, Towns’ warning couldn’t have been more on point.

Stay locked in. Stay sharp. And definitely don’t take that Game 1 high for granted.
