Should You Draft Josh Giddey in Fantasy Basketball?

After signing a four-year, $100 million contract in restricted free agency, Josh Giddey is firmly entrenched as one of Chicago’s franchise cornerstones. The combo guard’s new deal instantly makes him the highest-paid player on his team, heightening expectations entering the 2025-26 campaign.

During his first season with the retooling Bulls, Giddey regularly stuffed the stat sheet, setting career highs in rebounds (8.1), assists (7.2), steals (1.2), and 3-pointers per game (1.5). Meanwhile, he averaged 14.6 points a night, shooting 46.5% from the field and a personal best 37.8% from downtown.

The 6-foot-8 playmaker finished seventh in the NBA in triple-doubles, recording seven across 70 appearances, with all but one player ahead of him being a perennial All-Star-caliber player. With Giddey having just turned 23, another offensive leap could be in the cards, making him a high-ceiling fantasy target in the third round in standard formats.

However, with lingering concerns about his perimeter shooting, average free-throw percentage (78.1%), and high turnover frequency (2.9 tpg) last season, he profiles best in points leagues.
