Should You Draft John Collins in Fantasy Basketball?

After averaging 19.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game last season with the Utah Jazz (on 52.7/39.9/84.8 shooting splits), John Collins joined the Los Angeles Clippers following a three-team trade.

Collins projects as a strong PF option in category or roto leagues. His strengths are clear: high efficiency, solid scoring volume, 3-point shooting for a big, rebounding, and his ability to contribute blocks and steals. With the move to LA, he will be playing with established stars like Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, which means he’ll receive fewer offensive touches than in Utah, potentially lowering his usage. On the flip side, he should benefit from better spacing and playing with Harden and Chris Paul should lead to plenty of easy looks.

He played only 40 games last year and missed time with ankle and hip issues, but if he can stay healthy, he’s a solid mid-round pick with a high floor and moderate ceiling. In category leagues, he’s a terrific PF, especially if you need boards, inside/outside scoring, and defensive stats.
