Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen is currently in his eighth NBA season. The veteran big man has made one All-Star team during his career, averaging 13.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, and shooting 70.6 percent from the field in 75 games this season.
Allen serves as the Cavaliers’ anchor on the inside. He has finished in the top 12 of the league’s Defensive Player of the Year voting on three separate occasions; 2019, 2020, and 2024.
Jarrett Allen’s Contract and Salary
Allen signed a maximum contract extension last August to stay with the Cavaliers for the long term. The deal was a three-year contract extension worth around $90.7 million.
Allen earned roughly $20 million during the 2024-25 season, ranking him as the 20th highest-paid player in the NBA. He will also earn $20 million next season before his extension starts in 2026-27.
The Brooklyn Nets drafted Allen with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2017 draft. Allen played his first three seasons with the franchise, starting 180 out of the 234 games played in Brooklyn. In January 2021, Allen was traded to the Cavaliers in a massive four-way trade that sent future Hall of Fame guard James Harden to the Nets.
That summer, Allen signed a five-year, $100 million deal with Cleveland and made his lone All-Star appearance the next season, averaging 16.1 points and grabbing a career-high 10.8 rebounds per contest.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (60-15) are currently ranked first in the Eastern Conference standings, and the playoffs loom later this month. Allen is the only member of the Cavaliers’ roster who has played in every game this season.
Allen’s Career Earnings
Over eight NBA seasons, Allen has earned roughly $90 million throughout his playing career. The veteran has another $110.7 million guaranteed through the 2029 season; then, he will become an unrestricted free agent that summer. During the last two years of his max extension, Allen will top $30 million in annual salary.
The Cavaliers have amassed a talented young core with Allen, including forward Evan Mobley, and guards Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. All four players have at least one All-Star appearance, and all are under 30 years old, setting Cleveland up to compete for the top spot in the East for years to come.
Allen wasn’t the only core member re-signed to a massive deal last summer. Mobley signed a five-year contract for $224 million; Mitchell re-upped it for three years and $150.3 million.
According to online outlets, Allen is estimated to have a car collection worth more than $5 million. The collection includes a Bugatti Chiron, Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Audi RS Q8, and Porsche Cayenne.
