Philadelphia 76ers sophomore Jared McCain suffered from an injury over the summer. His injury caused him to miss the first few games of the 2025-26 NBA season. However, a recent injury report gives 76ers fans reasons to tune in on Tuesday.

McCain Listed as Probable for the 76ers’ Game Against the Chicago Bulls
It’s been nearly an entire year since the last time we’ve seen McCain suit up for the 76ers. After playing only 23 games last year, his season came to an abrupt end after suffering from a torn meniscus in his left knee.
While he technically already recovered from his injury this summer, he was sent back to the sidelines again, this time for injuring his right thumb. Before Philadelphia’s summer camp training in September, McCain sustained a UCL tear in his right thumb, forcing him to rest for another four to six weeks.
Thankfully, the wait could finally be over, as reports indicate that McCain is now listed as probable for the 76ers’ game against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.
Tim Bontemps of ESPN reported that it’s likely McCain will make his season debut against the Bulls. This is good news for 76ers fans, as more help is on the way.
“Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain will be probable to play tomorrow night against the Chicago Bulls,” Bontemps reported. “McCain will be in line to make his season debut after suffering a torn ligament in his right thumb in September prior to the start of training camp.”

Philadelphia has proven to be a threat in the Eastern Conference as of late. With Tyrese Maxey as the new face of the franchise and Joel Embiid supporting him, the 76ers have successfully remained on top of the conference, sitting in first place with a 5-1 record.
Looking at how McCain performed last season, he was the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award. He averaged 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds. While his numbers aren’t on par with the All-Star in the league, he was undoubtedly the 76ers’ second-best player next to Maxey.
With Embiid being injured for the majority of the year last season, the rookie McCain stepped up to the occasion and proved that he could fill the shoes of being capable of carrying a team.
Having all that in mind, it’ll be exciting to see if the trio of Embiid, Maxey, and McCain can lead the 76ers to success this season. That’s the case if everyone on the team stays healthy.
