With a myriad of controversies following him around, Ja Morant’s 2025-26 season is off to a rocky start. The Memphis Grizzlies star has already been suspended this season, kickstarting multiple trade rumors.
Of course, there have been ample questions about Morant’s trade value. Many analysts and insiders have dubbed the Grizzlies’ star as untradeable, confident that no team would want to sign a problematic player. However, some destinations could still place faith in his on-court talent.
NBA Insider Speaks on Team That Could Try And Trade For Ja Morant
As mentioned, few have confidence in Morant’s trade value.
However, according to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, the Minnesota Timberwolves might try to trade for Morant. Their offer might depend on a few factors, especially since they are still trying to find the best poing guard.
Morant, averaging 19.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game this season, could be a good option.

“If we get to late December and the Wolves are still treading water and that point guard position still has not solidified…I do think that they could explore at least looking harder at Ja Morant,” Krawczynski said.
Additionally, the team might also not want to trade Anthony Edwards or Julius Randle. Both players have become the most important pieces on the Wolves’ roster, the team banking on Edwards to eventually win them that elusive NBA title.
And while Morant might be embroiled in multiple on-court and off-court scandals, he as the Wolves’ point guard might edge them closer to victory — or even the possibility of winning a conference title.
Fans have already started imagining Edwards and Morant as a duo for the Wolves. The two dynamic players can bring in big numbers, furthering the possibility for the Wolves to emerge as winners.
But one can’t deny the problems surrounding Morant’s campaign, possibly causing a hurdle for any future trade.

Earlier this month, Bill Simmons suggested two possible destinations for Morant — the Atlanta Hawks and the Miami Heat.
However, while laying out the trade details, Simmons admitted that he isn’t too sure of Morant’s current trade value.
“There’s really not a lot of spots for Ja,” he concluded. “And I also don’t really know what his trade value is at this point.”
