Golden State Warriors fans might want to brace themselves for some tough news ahead of Game 3. With the series knotted up at 1-1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, all eyes are on Stephen Curry’s hamstring. And unfortunately, it’s still not giving green lights.
After missing Game 2, the Warriors’ superstar has yet to return to on-court action, and heading into Saturday night, things aren’t looking promising.
Curry’s Status: All Treatment, No Court
According to ESPN’s NBA insider Shams Charania, Curry hasn’t logged any real activity on the hardwood since tweaking that hamstring in Game 1. “He’s been limited to just doing treatment,” Charania said on The Pat McAfee Show, adding that the plan remains for a re-evaluation on Wednesday. That update came with a big sigh for Dub Nation.
"Steph Curry has really been limited to just doing treatment and he's gonna be reevaluated on Wednesday..
My understanding is that he could be back for game six at the earliest" ~ @ShamsCharania #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/ppvbo0zAgn

The Golden State Warriors aren’t taking any risks here, and rightfully so. They managed to snatch home-court advantage with a gutsy Game 1 road win, which gives them a sliver of breathing room. But let’s be real: breathing without Curry is more like gasping.
Golden State’s entire offensive engine is wired to what Curry does. Even when he’s not touching the ball. His gravity shifts defenses, opens up clean looks, and warps every single possession.
In Game 2, without him? Head coach Steve Kerr went full mad scientist. The Warriors became the first team in NBA playoff history to roll out 14 different players in the first half alone.
A wild experiment, sure, but the result was a 117-93 reality check delivered by Minnesota. Jonathan Kuminga dropped a team-high 18 points, but it wasn’t enough to cover the Curry-sized hole in their offensive rhythm.
Warriors Trying To Hang Tight Without Curry
Game 2 wasn’t just a blowout, it was a message. Minnesota took control early and never looked back. Julius Randle torched Golden State with 24 points, 11 assists, and 7 boards, while Anthony Edwards shook off a scary ankle tweak to finish with 20 points and an all-around impactful stat line.
The Timberwolves made it clear they can swing with the heavyweights, Curry or no Curry.
As for Golden State? It’s a waiting game. Saturday’s Game 3 at Chase Center is looming large, and with no confirmed return for Curry yet, the pressure falls squarely on the supporting cast. Guys like Kuminga, Jimmy Butler III, and Buddy Hield will have to summon something special. Again.
Warriors fans might still be holding out hope for a miracle comeback. But based on current reports, it looks like the Chef might still be cooking from the sidelines.
