The Oklahoma City Thunder have been absolutely dominating everyone they have faced this postseason. They are 7-0 without Jalen Williams during this year’s playoffs. They just dismantled the San Antonio Spurs on the road in Game 3, 123-108, without him.
But heading into tonight’s must-win Game 4 for San Antonio, Williams’ status for the game is still in doubt.
What Is Jalen Williams’ Injury Status?
Williams aggravated his left hamstring in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, exiting after fewer than eight minutes on the floor. He was listed as questionable for Game 3 and OKC played it safe then.
With Ajay Mitchell officially ruled out for tonight with a right calf strain, the urgency to get Williams back has increased. Two starters unavailable at the same time in a conference finals will be a major problem for OKC.
Per the official NBA injury report, Williams is listed as questionable for tonight’s Game 4 with left hamstring soreness. He is being evaluated day-to-day. Oklahoma City head coach Mark Daigneault has not offered a definitive update.
Jalen Williams is out here for pregame warmups

He has reportedly been available for pre-game warmups, but that doesn’t confirm his status. A final call on his availability could come as late as tipoff at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The hamstring has been Williams’ biggest problem this season. He played just 33 regular-season games with a combination of wrist and hamstring issues. He returned for the playoffs, suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain against the Phoenix Suns in the first round, and missed the entire second-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
He came back for the start of the Western Conference Finals. And then proceeded to suffer another hamstring injury in the second outing.

The reality that everyone is aware of is that Thunder do not need Williams to win tonight. That’s how deep their bench is, as well as how talented their other starters are.
Chet Holmgren owns the paint. Jared McCain has been one of the breakout performers of these playoffs. Cason Wallace and Alex Caruso have given the Thunder elite perimeter defense throughout this run.
But Williams is an All-NBA caliber wing who changes what OKC can do offensively. He averaged 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists during the regular season.
When he is healthy and on the floor alongside SHai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder really prove why they’re the defending champs. If the Spurs are going to tie this series tonight at Frost Bank Center, Williams’ absence would make that much easier.
If Williams can get through pregame warmups and the medical staff gives him clearance, we can expect OKC to give him every opportunity to return.
