How to Watch NBA 2026 Shooting Stars Contest: Time, Streaming Channels, and More Details

The NBA Shooting Stars contest makes its return to All-Star Saturday Night this weekend. Here are all the details about the exciting event.

NBA All-Star Weekend arrives on Feb. 13. Before the games’ biggest stars take the court on Sunday in the NBA All-Star Game, All-Star Saturday Night kicks off with the Kia Shooting Stars.

Breaking Down the NBA Shooting Stars Competition

The contest takes place at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers, on Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the action on NBC or stream it on Peacock.

The Shooting Stars competition makes its return to All-Star Weekend for the first time since 2015. The Skills Challenge replaced it for 10 years, but Shooting Stars was previously a staple of All-Star Weekend from 2004 to 2015.

The last team to win included Chris Bosh, Dominique Wilkins, and Swin Cash. This year, four teams of three players, which include two NBA players and one former NBA player, will compete for the trophy.

Scottie Barnes, Chet Holmgren, and Richard Hamilton make up Team All-Star. Barnes and Holmgren will be teammates for the All-Star Game, while Hamilton earned three All-Star honors during his 14-year NBA career.

Kon Knueppel, Jalen Johnson, and Corey Magette form Team Cameron. All three players played their college ball at Duke University, home of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Johnson earned his first All-Star selection this season, and Knueppel ranks in the top two for 2025-26 Rookie of the Year. Magette played in 14 NBA campaigns, including eight for the Clippers.

Ron Harper Sr., a five-time NBA champion, teams up with his sons, Dylan Harper and Ron Harper Jr., to form Team Harper. Dylan Harper was the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, while Ron Harper Jr. is in his fourth NBA campaign.

Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Allan Houston make up Team Knicks. Brunson and Towns made the All-Star team this season, while Houston earned two selections during his 12-year NBA career. He currently serves as the Knicks’ Vice President of Player Leadership & Development.

Shooting Stars Rules

Each team will have 1:10 on the clock to make as many shots as they can, in order, from seven different spots on the floor. Each location gives different point values, going from two to four, with further attempts earning more points.

Locations include the following: layup (2), right baseline (2), right elbow (2), top of the key (2), right wing 3-pointer (3), left corner 3-pointer (3), and long range 3-pointer (4).

All four teams compete in the first round, but only the top two squads face each other in the final round. If two teams tie for a spot in the final round, they will face off in a 30-second competition. A tie in the final round means the two teams put another 1:10 on the clock.
