The NBA trade deadline is nearly two weeks away. With the clock winding down, teams are running out of time to finalize rosters before the second half of the season.
One of the notable names still linked to trade speculation is Ja Morant. The Memphis Grizzlies have previously indicated a willingness to move on from the guard, though Morant has said he does not want to be traded. Former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of Morant playing for the Heat.

Dwyane Wade Chimes In on Ja Morant’s Desire To Play for Miami
Earlier this January, the Grizzlies announced they were open to trade offers for Morant. Despite having Morant as the face of the franchise for several years, Memphis appears to feel it is time to move on from the explosive guard.
That sentiment is understandable given Morant’s recent behavior. He has racked up multiple suspensions for misdemeanors on and off the court. To make matters worse, he has at times deliberately gone against league rules.
According to several reports, teams such as the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings have expressed interest in acquiring Morant. However, another report indicated Morant wants to take his talents to South Beach if he is traded, though after returning for the Grizzlies in London against the Magic, he said he wants to remain with Memphis.
Some basketball figures have voiced reservations about Morant joining the Heat, citing concerns about whether he would fit the team’s culture. Wade weighed in on the possibility of Morant joining Miami.
“Everyone’s trying to get to Miami. Every time someone’s getting traded, it’s Miami,” Wade said. “Listen, I’m a fan (of Ja Morant), and I have nothing to do with the (Heat) organization and their decisions, obviously.”
“So, I want to win,” Wade continued. “So the Heat is one of the teams I want to win because, you know, obviously, my basketball legacy is there. … But yeah, I want to see them win. So whatever (Pat Riley) wants to do, man, listen, he’s going to (trade for Morant).”

Morant had 24 points and 13 assists in his return to the Grizzlies’ lineup against the Magic on Sunday, and it is becoming more likely he stays in Memphis beyond the trade deadline.
