Golden State Warriors Sign Guard Before Boston Celtics Game

Before the Warriors play the Boston Celtics (at home) on Thursday, they signed Williams.

Via @gswcba: “Jeenathan Williams Jr.’s Two-Way deal with the Warriors will be for one season. He will become a Restricted Free Agent this offseason with a $2,642,166 Qualifying Offer (guaranteed for $109,836). He will be eligible for 16 NBA games this season on his Two-Way.”

Williams went undrafted out of Buffalo.

The 27-year-old has played three seasons for the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets.

His career averages are 3.9 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 51.7% from the field and 28.2% from three-point range in 47 games.

Via Jake Fischer on February 16: “The Golden State Warriors are signing Nate Williams of the Long Island Nets to a two-way contract, according to league sources.”

The Warriors are currently the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 29-26 record in 55 games.

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games.

At the trade deadline, the Warriors pulled off a deal with the Atlanta Hawks to land former All-Star Kristaps Porzingis.

Via ESPN’s Anthony Slater (on February 12): “Here’s Steve Kerr on the Warriors heading into the break at 29-26 He said Kristaps Porzingis played live again today in the facility and was moving better than yesterday”

The Warriors are coming off a season where they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs (in five games).

They last won a title during the 2022 season (when they beat the Celtics).

Via The Golden State Warriors: “From Long Island to The Bay! The Warriors have signed guard Nate Williams to a two-way contract.”

The Warriors have done a good job of getting the most out of their role players.

Therefore, Williams could be in a good spot to continue his NBA career.

The Warriors still have a very talented roster led by Steph Curry, Draymond Green (and Porzingis).
