3-Time NBA All-Star Hilariously Dubs $60M Pistons Big Man ‘King Kong’ After Backing Up Jalen Duren

Following the brawl that led to the ejection of Diabate, Bridges, Duren, and Stewart, former three-time All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas gave his thoughts on the brawl. Arenas scored 11,000 points across a twelve-year career in the NBA, with his fair share of controversies.

“The Pistons have King Kong defending them. Jalen Duren is the Biggest person on the Court, and KING KONG still came to help. Yep, he can have my portion of corn bread,” the former three-time All-Star shared in a tweet following the game.

After the fight began, with Diabaté and Jalen Duren coming together in the free-throw lane, Stewart ran onto the court from the sidelines to join the brawl. Following this decision, he was ejected and is expected to face a suspension according to NBA rules.

According to the Official NBA Rule No. 12 for Fouls and Penalties, “During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be subject to suspension, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $50,000. The suspensions will commence before their next game.

Stewart, who is currently on a four-year 60$ million deal, has a history of violence in the league. In 2024, he was suspended for three games for punching Drew Eubanks, who was playing for the Phoenix Suns at the time. He was also reportedly arrested for assault.

His latest suspension came in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Stewart received a technical foul and was then ejected on the following play after putting Naz Reid in a chokehold. The three-time All-Star joked about Stewart’s history.

“If you know what I know, and you see Pistons with the word fight. You only look for one person. Because if he’s not on the court at the same time, he’s coming. That’s what he do, that one dude who’s on go for no reason all the time.” Arenas joked.

“They ran multiple guys at Jalen Duren. Jalen Duren and Stewart consider themselves to be brothers. If you run two guys at one guy, and you’ve already crossed the line, human instinct tells him to protect his little brother.” Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff stated after the game.

As well as having two all-star players on its roster, the Pistons also have a third all-star in its staff. The Head coach was named a coach for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. Only four Pistons coaches have ever led an NBA All-Star team.

Averaging 17.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season, Duren was also named to the All-Star team. With Cade Cunningham, the Pistons have three all-stars on their team as they lead their Conference, one of the hottest teams in the NBA, despite tonight’s brawl.
