A Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry partnership could actually happen before the end of the week. According to one NBA Insider, the Golden State Warriors are still very much in play when it comes to acquiring the two-time MVP.
Warriors Load Table With Picks and Prospects in Bold Push for Giannis Antetokounmpo
Both the Warriors and the Bucks are in desperate need of a major move to turn their franchises around. Interestingly, they are well-positioned to help each other out. There has already been plenty of talk regarding what the Warriors can offer the Bucks, especially in terms of draft picks and young prospects. In this regard, Golden State appears to be ahead of other teams, and even the Bucks’ front office seems to agree.
According to NBA Insider Brett Siegel, the Bucks have yet to turn down the Warriors’ offer for Antetokounmpo.
“To this point, the Bucks have not declined the Warriors’ offer,” Siegel said. “[Jon] Horst and Milwaukee’s front office were fascinated with the idea of acquiring all of Golden State’s future assets, but they are also taking their time with coming to a decision, which is not expected to happen until sometime within the 24-hour mark until the trade deadline.”

The Warriors can offer Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski in a trade for Antetokounmpo. Beyond giving up young players, though, Golden State can offer up to four unprotected first-round picks to the Bucks, as per Anthony Slater.
If this does happen, the Warriors might very well be increasing Stephen Curry’s window for another run at the championship. Of course, they will need to add the right type of talent to surround their dynamic duo, which shouldn’t be difficult. Playing with the Curry-Antetokounmpo duo should be a pitch in itself for players who want to have a legitimate chance at a championship.
As for the Bucks, the more first-round draft picks they have, the better. In a post-Antetokounmpo future, the team will have no choice but to enter a rebuild. Their chances of getting past that phase and returning into a state of championship contention increase with each draft pick they have in possession, especially if they were first-rounders.
Still, the Bucks hold the cards right now, and they could decide to hold off on trading Antetokounmpo until the summer. At that time, they could have more offers to choose from, and the Warriors will likely need to add more assets to the table.
