A flurry of social media posts from two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has added fuel to the rumors that the Greek superstar could be angling for a move to the Golden State Warriors.
On Saturday, Antetokounmpo responded to a series of questions from fans on X. The Milwaukee Bucks forward brought up Stephen Curry several times and was full of praise for the Warriors All-Star.
Antetokounmpo has not officially asked for a trade, but recently reiterated his desire to win a second championship. After the Bucks were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for a third consecutive year, the 30-year-old may be getting a little restless in Wisconsin.
The San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, OKC Thunder, and Brooklyn Nets have all been mentioned as potential trade partners, but the Warriors could be a dark horse in the race for Antetokounmpo this offseason.

Antetokounmpo Lauds Stephen Curry in a Series of X Posts
The Antetokounmpo to Golden State rumors hit the headlines back in February after the Bucks forward and his wife were spotted at a party hosted by Curry in San Francisco during the All-Star break. Antetokounmpo making a late-night pit stop at Curry’s party seemed to suggest the two NBA players have a close relationship.
Shortly after the event, The Ringer’s Logan Murdock reported that Antetokounmpo’s visit to the bar gave “some the impression he’d be open to joining forces with Curry someday.”
During an episode of the Ringer’s podcast from May 17, Murdock doubled down on that stance:
“From what I heard—and I’m sure you heard the same thing—there was a feeling that Giannis was very, very intrigued by the idea of one day being a teammate of Steph Curry.”
In February, Golden State concluded a blockbuster trade to bring All-Star forward Jimmy Butler to the Bay Area, which put the Antetokounmpo conversation on the back burner, at least temporarily. But after a series of posts on X this week, speculations are running high that Antetokounmpo wants to revive the subject.
When one fan asked Antetokounmpo his thoughts on Curry, he went on to hail the two-time scoring champion as one of the best in the game.
“Him and Dame greatest shooters of all time,” responded Antetokounmpo

Another account pushed Antetokounmpo to list his all-time starting five, and he named Curry alongside some of the NBA’s legendary figures.

2.MJ
3.Kobe
4.KD
5.Bron https://t.co/t0v4O5qTuL— Giannis Antetokounmpo (@Giannis_An34)
Asked who he thought the greatest point guard to ever play the game was, Antetokounmpo mentioned Curry, Magic Johnson and Isaiah Thomas in his top tier.

Antetokounmpo also admitted that his favourite player in NBA2K is either Curry or Kobe Bryant.

The idea of Antetokounmpo, Curry, Butler, and Draymond Green getting together in Northern California is a mouthwatering prospect for Warriors fans. Whether Golden State can put together a suitable trade package capable of enticing the Bucks is another question altogether.

Antetokounmpo has dedicated 12 years to the Bucks organization and helped the franchise break a 50-year championship drought. His goal now is to get his hands on another ring. Over the last decade, the Warriors have been to six NBA finals. This could be a perfect fit for both parties.
