Giannis Antetokounmpo Shows Love to 3-Time NBA Champion Who ‘Did It the Right Way’

Here's what Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo said to an NBA legend when discussing the correct way to win an NBA title.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo couldn’t hold back his emotions and was full of praise when he was presented with the opportunity to meet an NBA legend and three-time champion.

Although it has been almost half a decade since Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to an NBA championship, there is no denying that he is one of the best players in the world and has continued to dominate the league throughout the course of his career.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Credits NBA Legend for Winning Multiple Championships the ‘Right’ Way

While Antetokounmpo is eager to win another title, doing so the right way appears to be a greater priority. The Bucks star made his feelings clear during a short interaction with Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

NBA fans may be eager to debate the right and wrong way to win an NBA title. There is no established definition. However, the majority of stars who lead the team that drafts them to a title are viewed as superior to those who join teams in order to contend for titles.

Although Wade was a part of the Miami Heat super team that won back-to-back championships over a decade ago, the fact remains that he never ran from the process and brought three titles to the Heat in the right way.

Antetokounmpo kept all of Wade’s accomplishments in mind during a recent interaction with the former NBA star.

“I’m a huge, huge fan of you, bro. The day after we won the championship, I posted a picture of you on my story. You did it in Miami. You did it the right way. That’s how I want to do it. I’m a huge fan of you, bro. Huge fan.”

The emotional statements made by Antetokounmpo to Wade had Milwaukee Bucks fans believing that their franchise cornerstone might just continue to remain with the team. After all, winning a title the right way is a top priority for Antetokounmpo, and his urge to do the same may be preventing him from making any trade demands of the Bucks.

In any case, it is safe to assume that Antetokounmpo and Wade have a bond that goes beyond the basketball court. Although Wade is no longer directly associated with the Miami Heat, he remains a valued member of the basketball community. Antetokounmpo undoubtedly feels the same way, implying that the respect between both NBA champions is mutual.

Although Antetokounmpo may want to win another championship the right way, the Bucks’ current struggles and lack of success may prompt him to consider an alternative. Fans are left wondering if Antetokounmpo will finish his career with the Bucks or go ring chasing in order to “stat pad” his legacy.
