Giannis Antetokounmpo’s possible split from the Milwaukee Bucks has become a major talking point across the NBA landscape. The two-time MVP has spent 12 seasons with the Bucks since being drafted in 2013. However, after the Bucks’ first-round exit against the Indiana Pacers, Antetokounmpo has expressed willingness to move, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Since that report came out, the Golden State Warriors have emerged as the frontrunners to trade for Antetokounmpo. However, NBA Insider Brandon Robinson recently reported that Antetokounmpo wanted to stay in the Eastern Conference, and the “Greek Freak’s” latest social media post hints at the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Drops Major Hint on Possible Move to the Heat or Magic?
Speculation has it that Antetokounmpo will move on from the Bucks and seek to contend for championships on another franchise for the first time in his career.
And amid the rumors of his next possible destination, the two-time MVP was recently asked by fans on X which city he felt the happiest in. He named Florida, igniting trade rumors for the Heat and Magic.

While both teams have emerged as possible destinations and have reportedly expressed interest as well, Robinson recently reported Antetokounmpo had reservations about the Heat president.
“League sources tell me Pat Riley and the Heat organization have quietly explored scenarios where the two-time MVP could eventually be pried away from Milwaukee — but here’s the twist: I’m hearing Giannis isn’t feeling Pat Riley. And that might be a bigger hurdle than Miami expected,” Robinson said.
With Miami out of contention, Orlando can land the two-time MVP in a three-way trade with the Atlanta Hawks. The trade was proposed by SI on Hawks’ Rohan Raman, where Magic received Antetokounmpo along with Bucks forward Bobby Portis and Hawks guard Kobe Bufkin after giving up four players—Franz Wagner, Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, and Goga Bitadze—and three first-round picks (2025, 2027, and 2029).
Except Bitadze, all the assets went to the Bucks.
“The Magic are currently the worst offense in the playoffs by PPG, and they were the 28th-ranked team in the same category during the regular season,” Raman wrote. “There isn’t much to say about how badly they need an injection of offensive talent, and Giannis is exactly that.”
“The fit with Paolo Banchero might take some figuring out, but they would be able to run a jumbo-size duo at the wing position rife with passing and midrange scoring.”
However, the Magic may not be completely on board with parting ways with Wagner, who averaged a career high 24.2 points during the 2024-25 season. But if Orlando aim to become a leading contender in the Eastern Conference, acquiring Antetokounmpo is a no-brainer.
