‘I’ve Seen It All’ — Giannis Antetokounmpo Defends LeBron James After Lakers Superstar Ignites Debate With ‘No Bag’ Comment

See Giannis Antetokounmpo’s response to LeBron James’ “no bag” comment that sparked a social media debate among NBA basketball fans.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James are fierce competitors still battling for a place atop the NBA hierarchy. But that didn’t stop the Milwaukee Bucks superstar from showing respect to King James during a recent debate.

LeBron made headlines when he weighed in on the ever-popular “bag” debate that dominates basketball conversations on social media. In hoops lingo, a “bag” refers to a player’s offensive skillset — including how they dribble, score, and the variety of moves they use to create shots and get to the basket.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Shows Support for LeBron James

During his “Mind the Game” podcast, King James took a subtle shot at his critics, saying, “I’ll be on social media like, ‘LeBron has no bag,’ and I’m sitting like…50 billion points, right? Leading scorer all-time in the NBA — no bag? Play the game the right way.”

James has long said that his primary focus in basketball is to play the game the right way, involve his teammates, and do whatever it takes to win.

This prompted the “Greek Freak” to join the debate as well and share his opinion.

Antetokounmpo stated, “If they’re people out there that believe that one of the greatest players to ever be on earth has no bag… Man i’ve seen it all.”

A “bag” doesn’t necessarily equate to higher efficiency, more points, a better shooting percentage, or any measurable stat. It’s primarily about aesthetics.

Does it look good? Sure.

But whether it’s flashy or simple, a made basket is still worth two or three points. And James has become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer by consistently putting the ball in the basket efficiently and over a remarkably long period of time.

Greek Freak & King James Give Each Other Flowers

This isn’t the first time the two NBA superstars have publicly supported one another. James previously appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show,” where he took a jab at players from past generations.

“You trying to tell me Giannis wouldn’t be able to play an NBA game in the ’70s? Giannis Antetokounmpo would have 250 points in a game in the ’70s. 250!”, James playfully-but-seriously stated. While Antetokounmpo appreciated the compliment, he thought it was unfair to compare eras.

After a game in which the two stars faced off in 2022, the Bucks forward took to social media to express his gratitude for the opportunity to play against one of the “best.”

With Antetokounmpo mulling his future with the Bucks and possibly on the move this summer, could we see these two stars, who clearly have mutual appreciation, teaming up on the Los Angeles Lakers? Only time will tell.
