After a disappointing end to the 2024–25 postseason, the Milwaukee Bucks have bounced back with renewed energy and purpose. The team made waves during the 2025 preseason, winning three out of the four games they played, and in doing so, reminded everyone why they remain one of the top contenders in the East.

Will Giannis Antetokounmpo Suit up Against the Washington Wizards?

There’s good news for Bucks fans. According to ESPN’s latest injury report, no players are listed on Milwaukee’s injury list. This means the team will take the floor at full strength. That includes their franchise cornerstone and two-time MVP, Antetokounmpo.

This update comes as a significant relief after the Greek Freak faced some early preseason setbacks.

The Greek forward began the 2025–26 preseason under less-than-ideal circumstances. It’s because, while visiting Greece during the offseason, he tested positive for COVID-19, which forced him to miss the team’s first two preseason games, against the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons, as well as several early training camp sessions.

However, once he was cleared and returned to the hardwood, he wasted no time in showing everyone what he is capable of.

In his preseason debut, Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, 10 rebounds, and three assists in just 21 minutes, and his performance helped the Bucks secure a 127–121 win against the Chicago Bulls.

Moreover, he followed that up with another strong performance in a narrow 116–112 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. In that game, he posted 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in 25 minutes of action. If we see those outings were clear signs that Antetokounmpo is back to his dominant self.

So yes, Bucks fans can breathe easy as the Greek Freak is suiting up tonight and is also expected to give his maximum effort in the season opener.

What Is the Condition of the Washington Wizards Squad?

However, while the Bucks will be at full health, the same can’t be said for the Washington Wizards. ESPN has reported that two players are listed on their injury report. They are:

  • Will Riley – Questionable (Ankle Issue)
  • Bilal Coulibaly – Out (Thumb Issue)

The Wizards also went through a rough preseason. It’s because they lost two of their three games. This performance raised concerns about their early-season readiness, but with young talents like Marvin Bagley III expected to step up, Washington will look to put up a fight.
