Giannis Antetokounmpo will be out for the Milwaukee Bucks vs. the Los Angeles Clippers game due to an ankle injury. This marks his second setback in mid-March, after missing 15 games earlier in the 2025-26 season with a calf injury.

Why Giannis Antetokounmpo Will Miss the Bucks vs. Clippers Game
The Greek player was drafted 15th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013 and has remained loyal to the franchise ever since. He developed so rapidly, both physically and skillfully, that he became one of the team’s standout highlights as a unique force. He led his team to the NBA title in 2021 and was named Finals MVP that year.
Antetokounmpo established himself as one of the league’s most prolific transition scorers, largely orchestrating the team’s offense. On the defensive end, he has guarded all five positions and catapulted himself to an elite rank. In November 2025, he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the Bucks’ all-time leader in 40-point games.
However, fate didn’t favor Antetokounmpo, despite the Bucks’ strong start to the season. He sustained a calf injury and missed 15 games, significantly affecting the team’s standings. The Bucks struggled in his absence and failed to maintain their momentum.
Although he made his return after the All-Star break, it didn’t last long. He suffered a left knee hyperextension and a bone bruise and has not played since.
He was also ruled out of the Milwaukee Bucks-San Antonio Spurs game and will remain sidelined for the matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 29, 2026.
More unfortunate news followed for the Bucks, who recorded their 44th loss of the season against the Spurs and are officially out of playoff contention. With just 9 games remaining in the regular season, the team will now allow the players lower on the roster more playing time. The last time the Bucks missed the playoffs was the 2015-16 season.

Antetokounmpo will enter his final season with the Bucks, and the team has made it clear that trade options will be considered if the Greek star does not agree to an extension. Shedding light on that, Shannon Sharpe, widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends and the host of “Nightcap” on YouTube, smartly drew an analogy between the 31-year-old and an old car sitting in a garage, siding with the Bucks’ approach.
“That’s a car, I know I want to get rid of it. I wanna park it. I will have it cleaned up, and I’m gonna sit it in the garage. Y’all come look at it if you want it. Cuz the more I drive it, the more chances somebody running into me. Or I’m not paying attention to, and somebody run and I run into somebody, now I decrease the value of it.”
Amid the rising tension between the Bucks and their star player, Udonis Haslem questioned why Antetokounmpo would want to return after missing 37 games. He argued that playing meaningless games made no sense and proved he and the Bucks were not on the same page.
