As attention shifts from the New York Knicks’ championship celebration to the 2026 NBA Draft, few prospects have generated as much buzz as North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson. While most evaluators view Wilson as a likely top-four selection, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently took the conversation to a whole new level.
During Wednesday’s edition of “The Draymond Green Show,” Green delivered one of the most striking endorsements of any prospect in this year’s class, arguing that Wilson could ultimately outperform top prospects like AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer.
Draymond Green Sees Hall of Fame Future for Caleb Wilson
Speaking on Wilson’s upside, Green pointed to the 19-year-old’s physical tools and instincts as the primary reasons for his confidence that he is a can’t-miss prospect.
“I actually think Caleb Wilson may be the most special of the group,” Green said.
The four-time NBA champion noted that Wilson already produces at a high level despite still growing into his game. Although he sometimes looks uncomfortable with his movements, he finds ways to dominate.
“Caleb Wilson is so good, and I think he’s still clumsy,” Green continued. “… If this guy is still clumsy and he’s that good right now already, man, what happens when he continues to grow into this body and he ain’t clumsy no more?”
Draymond Green says the type of talent Caleb Wilson is his floor in the NBA is Kevin Garnett:
“And man if that’s your floor. Oh my God. You know how great KG was? I actually think Caleb Wilson, Kevin Garnett could be his floor. That’s how special I think Caleb Wilson is.”

Wilson backed up the hype during his lone season at North Carolina. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He also added 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks a night while shooting 57.8% from the field across 24 starts.
Green later addressed comparisons that scouts have made between Wilson and Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett. Some evaluators have described Paul Millsap as Wilson’s floor and Garnett as his ceiling. Green strongly disagreed.
“I actually think his floor is Kevin Garnett,” Green suggested. “And man, if that’s your floor, oh my god. Do you know how great KG was? I actually think with Caleb Wilson, Kevin Garnett could be his floor. That’s how special I think Caleb Wilson is.”
The comparison is notable because Garnett is widely considered one of the greatest power forwards of all time. He won a league MVP award and built a Hall of Fame career behind his elite defense, versatility, and unmatched intensity.
With the first round of the draft set for June 23, teams picking near the top of the board, including the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies, may take an even closer look at Wilson as they finalize their decisions.
