‘Fire Steve Kerr’ — Fans Enraged After Warriors HC’s Bold Lineup Choice During Raptors Loss

NBA fans were critical of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr after the team’s loss to the Toronto Raptors.

The Golden State Warriors went up against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. While Stephen Curry put forth an effort to lead his team to victory, the Raptors ultimately came out on top in overtime.

That result was driven by Scottie Barnes’ jaw-dropping triple-double performance, which left the Warriors reeling. However, many fans placed the blame for the loss on Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

Fans Call Out Steve Kerr’s Rotations on Sunday

Before the Raptors sent Sunday’s game to overtime, the Warriors had an opportunity to win. However, several key pieces were missing from the rotation during crucial moments, which ultimately allowed Barnes to dominate.

Barnes recorded an impressive triple-double, finishing with 23 points, 25 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Raptors star resembled a young Dennis Rodman with the way he controlled the glass.

Fans on social media called out Kerr for once again relying on a small-ball lineup. Given how Barnes was dominating the boards, Kerr could have played Trayce Jackson-Davis to stop the bleeding in the paint. Instead, Toronto took full advantage of the situation and secured a 141-127 victory.

Here’s what some fans had to say on X:

“Fire Steve Kerr why is Trace Jackson Davis sitting on the bench and Scotty Barnes has 25 boards I’m done,” one fan wrote.

One fan expressed frustration with the Warriors’ 20 turnovers: “Can’t believe we lost that game because we couldn’t bring the ball up the court without turning it over 4 times in a row. Most annoying shit I’ve seen all season. F**k the warriors.”

Another called for the Warriors to rebuild: “Really the warriors should jumpstart the rebuild steph curry still can get you a lot of pieces while other teams are getting better the warriors are getting worse teams are younger while they are old as s**t.”

“Kerr went small again out of pure stubbornness. You’ve got Gui and TJD!! Go double big. Instead, he ran a 35-year-old Draymond & played Podz 30+ minutes. WAIVE KERR.  Stop protecting the elderly. 😭🏀,” another fan wrote.

Another fan noted the team struggled with backcourt pressure: “Never thought a professional basketball team would be this bad at handling backcourt pressure. High school skill level.”

“Kerr’s poor coaching over the past few years has resulted in countless losses and broken numerous of Curry’s records. It’s time to fire him,” another fan wrote.

The Warriors are set to face the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. They will look to bounce back and move above the .500 mark.
