Nikola Jokic, C, DEN
Nikola Jokic enters the 2025-26 season as the clear-cut No. 1 fantasy basketball option, a title he has owned for half a decade. The three-time MVP is coming off his best year yet, averaging a triple-double for the first time in his career while setting personal bests in points (29.6), assists (10.2), steals (1.8) and threes made per game. He maintained elite efficiency despite upping his outside volume to 4.7 attempts per night. With his durability, there’s virtually no safer pick in fantasy drafts.
Jokic delivered over 64 fantasy points per game last season and topped the 9-cat rankings with ease. Denver’s offseason changes, including hiring David Adelman as head coach and swapping Michael Porter Jr. for Cameron Johnson while adding Jonas Valanciunas and Bruce Brown, do little to alter Jokic’s massive role.

As the offensive hub, he remains elite in points, boards, and dimes, while offering underrated value in steals, though blocks (0.6 BPG) aren’t a major part of his game. His high-usage efficiency continues to separate him from all other fantasy stars.
Jokic’s well-rounded dominance means he’s an automatic first-overall selection in every format. Barring injury, fantasy managers can expect another season of historic production from the Serbian superstar.
Alperen Sengun, C, HOU
Alperen Sengun followed up his breakout 2023 campaign with another strong showing last season, establishing himself as one of the NBA’s most well-rounded bigs. He averaged roughly 20 points and a career high in boards (10.3). His field-goal percentage dipped below 50 percent for the first time, but his playmaking and consistency kept him among fantasy’s top centers. Durable and versatile, Sengun has missed fewer than 20 games in every season of his career.
The Rockets traded away Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, and Cam Whitmore while adding Kevin Durant, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Clint Capela. With Durant commanding defensive attention and Fred VanVleet sidelined by a torn ACL, Sengun should take on an even greater creation role. Though Capela and Steven Adams will absorb some of the physical workload inside, Sengun’s vision and passing will remain central to Houston’s offense.
Entering Year 5, Sengun’s growth trajectory resembles that of an all-around star. He’s coming off his first All-Star appearance, continued to improve as a facilitator, and remains a nightly double-double threat with elite upside in points leagues. Surrounded by better spacing and proven talent, he’s poised for another leap.
Domantas Sabonis, C, SAC
Domantas Sabonis remains one of the league’s most dependable big men and a fantasy rock thanks to his durability, efficiency, and rebounding dominance. He has led the NBA in double-doubles for three straight seasons and played at least 70 games in each, giving him one of the highest floors in fantasy basketball. While his assists dipped, he offset that with career-best efficiency from the line and from deep.
The Kings underwent another roster shuffle to form a more isolation-heavy lineup. Those moves may curb Sabonis’ assist ceiling, but head coach Doug Christie is expected to lean on him more as a distributor without a true point guard. The veteran’s chemistry with Keegan Murray and his growing confidence as a floor-spacer (2.2 3-point attempts per game in 2024) provide added offensive versatility.
Fantasy managers can count on Sabonis for nightly double-doubles, elite percentages, and solid playmaking from the center position. He remains a mid–first-round staple in points leagues and a strong second-rounder in category formats given his low turnovers and shooting efficiency. While he won’t contribute much in defensive stats or threes, his usage and efficiency make him one of the safest bigs in fantasy basketball.
