NBA Fans React As LeBron James’ Resurfaced ‘Bet Is My Middle Name’ Post Goes Viral Amid Gambling Scandal

Fans respond as LeBron James' name has emerged in the latest gambling scandal, leading to the resurfacing of an old tweet.

The NBA’s most recent gambling scandal has very little to do with LeBron James directly, but because he was mentioned offhand, plenty have made a big deal of it.

James is not in any trouble whatsoever after news of the latest gambling scandal came out, but because of his popularity as a basketball player, people are sure to make a big deal out of the fact that he was used as part of one of the schemes. So much so that an old tweet from six years ago resurfaced because of it.

What LeBron James Tweet Resurfaced After the Betting Scandal?

According to The Athletic, James’ former teammate Damon Jones allegedly traded James’ information on a game he missed two years ago. This led to a resurfacing of James’ tweet from 2019, where he made it proud of how he likes to bet.

“Bet is my middle name. LeBron Raymone Bet James! Let’s get it,” James wrote with a laughing, huffing, and a crown emoji.

Many fans responded to it six years after the fact, with one responding pretty harshly, writing, “YEAH GET OUT OF MY LEAGUE B****.”

Other responses weren’t as harsh, but they were pretty condemning, as another wrote, “I knew your clown a** was gon be involved, count your games n****.”

Several pleaded for James to delete the tweet as they believed it made him look suspicious, as one wrote, “omg king please delete asap” with a GIF of a stunned reaction. Another wrote, “Delete this goat” with a similarly stunned GIF. Another insinuated a similar sentiment in response to James, writing, “Times ticking.”

A few others believe James will be the next one named in the scandal, as one wrote, “ur next bron.”

Another responded with “Oh is it now?” with a GIF of popular entertainer Druski saying “Be safe. You know 12 is out here.”

Another fan responded with “Middle name, huh? OUT MY LEAGUE” with a picture of the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland holding his stopwatch to imply James’ time is coming.

For the time being, the only NBA personnel being named in this scandal have been Jones, Terry Rozier, and Chauncey Billups. James has only been named because of how Jones used him. There have been no reports indicating that James has done anything wrong.

James already has plenty of haters because of his legacy as a basketball player, but it would be hard to believe he would get involved in something this irresponsible. His net worth is over a billion dollars from the NBA and his endorsements. Why would he want to risk his legacy for a couple of extra dollars when he doesn’t need it?

Granted, it’s not like Rozier or Billups needed much more money than the plenty they made in their NBA careers, but James has made so much more than them that it’s downright impossible to fathom that he would try to get more by illegal means.
