‘You’re Finna Break Your Neck Trying’ – Ex-NFL LB Sounds the Alarm on Kevin Durant’s Surprise Return

Emmanuel Acho calls out Kevin Durant's Game 2 performance, predicting that his struggles will lead to the Rockets being upset by the Lakers.

The Houston Rockets acquired Kevin Durant to elevate them from playoff participants to championship contenders. However, they currently stare down the barrel of a possible first-round exit against a battered Los Angeles Lakers squad.

Down 2-0 as the series shifts to Houston, the alarm bells are ringing for the Rockets. Despite facing a Lakers roster without Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, Houston has been completely outplayed by LeBron James and Co.

Emmanuel Acho Slams Kevin Durant’s Disastrous Game 2 Return vs. Lakers

After missing Houston’s Game 1 loss due to a right knee contusion, Durant made his return in Game 2. The expectation? Durant would instantly stabilize the Rockets’ offense and expose the short-handed Lakers. Unfortunately, Game 2 was a nightmare for the two-time champion.

While the Lakers relied on a vintage LeBron James performance, Durant struggled to navigate Los Angeles’ defensive pressure, giving up 9 turnovers in the 101-94 loss.

The disastrous performance did not go unnoticed, as former NFL linebacker and sports analyst Emmanuel Acho sent out a brutal wake-up call to Durant, questioning whether he can actually handle the pressure.

“Heavy is the head that wears the crown,” Acho declared. “And Kevin Durant, you’re finna break your neck trying to wear this crown for the Houston Rockets… Last time you saw the Lakers during the regular season, I believe you had a 7-turnover game.”

Acho suggested that another early playoff exit would be a failure for the Rockets’ front office.

“Kevin Durant went to Houston to at least get them further than they got last year… This year, the Rockets are going to be upset by the Los Angeles Lakers in a series that they for sure should have won.”

Emphasizing that Durant must find a way to flip the script immediately, Acho remarked:

“Best ability is availability. Kevin Durant, unavailable for the first game. Second best ability is ability… KD has to turn it around in Game 3 because he’s talented enough to, and there’s no way the Rockets can go into the offseason with another first-round exit with Kevin Durant on the roster.”

With their backs firmly against the wall, the Rockets will return home to host the Lakers in a do-or-die Game 3. If Durant and Houston cannot flip the script, the franchise’s championship dreams will be dead on arrival.
