Draymond Green Injury Update: Latest on 4-Time NBA Champion’s Status After Early Exit vs. 76ers

Draymond Green left the Warriors’ loss to the 76ers with a foot injury and was seen in a walking boot. Here’s the latest update on his status.

The Golden State Warriors’ struggles continued to mount Thursday night as they faced the Philadelphia 76ers. Already without Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, the Warriors dropped their 12th game of the season. They fell to eighth place in the Western Conference.

Adding to the team’s concerns, four-time NBA Champion Draymond Green exited early in the second quarter with a foot injury and did not return, raising immediate concerns about his availability moving forward.

Is Draymond Green’s Injury Serious?

Green exited Thursday’s game in the second quarter after Sixers forward Dominick Barlow landed on his foot while going for a rebound. He struggled to walk and left for the locker room, finishing with three points, three rebounds, and one block on 1-for-3 shooting in nine minutes. Green did not return to the game and was later seen in a walking boot.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Green hopes to continue playing through the injury.

“Draymond Green was in a walking boot postgame. Said Dominick Barlow landed on his right foot and he hurt it similar to when Donovan Clingan landed on it last week. But Draymond said he hopes/expects to keep playing through it,” Slater noted.

Despite Green’s absence, the Warriors saw double-digit contributions from Pat Spencer, Buddy Hield, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, and Quinten Post. Still, it wasn’t enough as Philadelphia edged Golden State 99–98.

Head coach Steve Kerr described the loss as a “gut punch” given the team’s ongoing health struggles, but he remained optimistic about Green’s condition.

“I don’t ever have any expectations coming into the year for injuries. We just roll with whatever is coming our way. We have a lot of depth, and we believe we can win games like tonight without our three best players. I thought we deserved to,” Kerr said.

“He looks good, he looks lean, he’s felt good. I don’t know if what happened tonight is related to what happened the other night. But obviously we’ll be careful with him and see how he’s doing in Cleveland,” he said of Green.

Meanwhile, Butler remains sidelined with knee soreness. At the same time, Curry continues to recover from a quadriceps injury sustained against the Houston Rockets, marking his third straight absence. The Warriors have gone 1–2 without Curry.

The Golden State Warriors will continue their road trip on Saturday in Cleveland and wrap it up on Sunday in Chicago. They will then have four days off before hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves, with hopes of seeing Curry back on the court for that matchup.
