Warriors’ Draymond Green Savagely Hits Back at Hawks Fan Hinting at Atlanta’s Nonexistent Title Banners

Draymond Green taunted Atlanta Hawks fans over missing championship banners as the struggling Warriors risk missing the postseason.

Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green took a swipe at the Atlanta Hawks’ fanbase, which called him out mid-game on March 21, 2026. Golden State, with many of its star players sidelined, couldn’t maintain its momentum after taking a lead into the second quarter and ultimately fell to the Hawks 126-110, marking Atlanta’s 10th straight home-court win.

Why Draymond Green Hit Back at Atlanta Hawks Fans Mid-Game

Green has been recognized as one of the most elite defenders in NBA history, with four titles on his resume with Golden State. Although he is not a headline scorer, the 36-year-old continues to be in a leadership position to facilitate offense.

In the recent game, Green had four assists and contributed 13 points to the team’s tally, but efforts from De’Anthony Melton (20 points), Nate Williams (19 points), and Pat Spencer (18 points) couldn’t outscore the opponents. The team is 1-4 on its six-game road trip and will cap it off against the Dallas Mavericks on March 23, 2026.

Dyson Daniels spearheaded a strong start with 15 points in the first quarter. As the game gradually unfolded, Zaccharie Risacher and Nickeil Alexander-Walker added valuable contributions. But the energy inside the arena shifted, and the Hawks fans turned into vocal critics of Green, something he didn’t see coming.

When the four-time NBA All-Star walked to the bench, fans started chanting, “Draymond sucks,” and the power forward had the most savage comeback ever. He squinted his eyes and tried to spot a championship flag of the Atlanta Hawks but couldn’t find any. The franchise won its only title in 1958, defeating the Boston Celtics, but then it was the St. Louis Hawks.

“The Hawks fans chanted ‘Draymond sucks.’ Draymond in return looked for championship banners.”

Since moving to Atlanta, the Hawks have been consistently competitive and even made the conference finals but never won a national title.

The Atlanta Hawks extended their home winning streak against the Golden State Warriors to seven games. The Warriors have been facing continuous roadblocks due to Stephen Curry’s right patellofemoral injury and Kristaps Porziņģis’ lower-back tightness. Other players sidelined include Seth Curry, Al Horford, and Moses Moody.

Green has been integral in guarding all five positions but has never been a scorer like the virtuosos Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. In a recent “The Draymond Green Show” episode, the 36-year-old questioned whether he was ever able to give his all, as he let his heart out in adjusting to whatever made him great but could not make the 75-player list.

“I know I’m great, but I had to adjust everything and become great at the things that I’m great at in order to become me. I’m still a little self-conscious… A part of me still feels like I still never really got to give my whole game, and what could I have been if I was actually able to give my entire game? A large part of me sometimes still sit and be like, ‘Man, could I have then got in the top 75 ’cause I know I was right on the verge.’ And so, I think about all of that stuff all the time.”

The Golden State Warriors’ playoff spot is in jeopardy, considering their trajectory this season and the number of injury layoffs.
