‘This Is What Happens’ — Donald Trump’s Niece Taunts President After Knicks’ Game 4 Bounce-Back vs. Spurs

Mary Trump takes a dig at President Donald Trump, linking the New York Knicks' epic Game 4 victory to his absence.

The New York Knicks’ Game 4 win at Madison Square Garden was nothing short of a basketball miracle. They turned a near defeat into pure magic, recording a historic NBA comeback from a massive deficit.

After the Spurs launched a dominating 41-point first quarter, followed by an intense 35-point second quarter, the Knicks were down by 27 points at halftime (49-76).

When the fans in silver and black thought the game was heading toward an equalizer, the Knicks erupted for 58 points in the second half while holding the Spurs to just 30, completely dismantling them.

But it was OG Anunoby who sealed the 107-106 triumph by executing a clutch tip-in on a missed three-pointer from Brunson, with just 1.2 seconds remaining on the game clock.

The Knicks’ unbelievable bounce-back win caught the attention of President Trump’s niece, Mary Lea Trump. The 61-year-old psychologist and author took to social media to take a sassy jab at her uncle, linking the team’s fortunes directly to his absence from the arena.

“This is what happens when Donald stays the f**k out of New York. Go Knicks!” Mary L. Trump tweeted.

The political commentator’s taunt comes after President Donald Trump’s high-profile appearance during Game 3 on Monday night at Madison Square Garden. This was the Knicks’ first home game after winning their first two consecutive road games.

While the Knicks carried the momentum in Game 3, they suffered a brutal 115-111 loss, snapping their 13-game playoff winning streak, the second-longest single-season streak in NBA history, trailing only the Warriors’ 15-game streak in 2017.

It was during this clash that Spurs’ superstar Victor Wembanyama lit the Garden with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks, shooting 11-of-18 (61.1%) from the field and 2-of-4 (50.0%) from beyond the arc. While Brunson also dropped 32 points, it was simply not enough to secure a win over the Spurs.

The President’s presence coincided with the team’s loss, leading his niece to imply that the team performs better without him.

OG Anunoby’s late-game heroics delivered the final hit of the night in Game 4, but Jalen Brunson led the Knicks in scoring. He finished as the highest scorer on the hardwood with 36 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals, converting 12-of-25 from the field, including 3-of-7 from deep, and 9-of-11 from the charity stripe.

With a 3-1 series lead, the Knicks are one win from their first championship since 1973. The Spurs will host Game 5 at Frost Bank Center on Saturday, June 13, while looking to avoid getting eliminated from the NBA Finals race at home.
