‘Why Is That News?’ – Doc Rivers Takes Another Shot At Shams Charania’s Bombshell ESPN Article On Bucks

Doc Rivers slams Shams Charania once again after the ESPN insider's recent article about the Milwaukee Bucks' turmoil.

Doc Rivers recently left his role as the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks after yet another disappointing season with the team. And to make matters worse, Rivers’ tenure as head coach came to an end after a controversial report about his comments during a team meeting.

Courtesy of ESPN insider Shams Charania, Rivers reportedly asked Bucks players to ‘Google’ him, indicating that they should be aware of the legacy he comes with. Now, make no mistake, Rivers is one of the best coaches of this generation, as his induction into the Hall of Fame should explain.

But his fiery comment targeted at the Bucks players didn’t sit too well with the NBA world.

The former head coach hasn’t held back from expressing his true feelings about Charania, who has also come under massive scrutiny in recent months. Rivers even went so far as to say he missed Adrian Wojnarowski, the ESPN insider that Charania replaced.

Rivers also mentioned that the article about the Bucks was so ‘inaccurate,’ which is a concerning twist.

Now, he has once again called out Charania’s viral report on the Bucks’ turmoil. He said during a recent appearance on the Bill Simmons podcast,

“The Shams piece, I literally just tried to ignore it because it’s the point that I was making, like, yeah, we had a tough meeting after a game that we blew. Like again, if you go into any locker room, why is that news?”

While Rivers continues to blast Charania’s report, Bucks star Myles Turner has been making headlines for an interesting reason as well. Turner recently mentioned to Breanna Stewart on their podcast that the article had some truth to it. He even verified that the ‘Google Me’ incident actually happened, but believed that it didn’t reach the Bucks players like Rivers had intended.

This comes at an interesting time, when Rivers has chosen to attack Charania publicly, while his own player confirms that what the article mentions was, in fact, true. It certainly isn’t a good look for Rivers, who has been having a tough last few months.

With that said, the Bucks will now have to go through a search process to find the right man to lead them from the sidelines. They also have another problem in dealing with the Giannis Antetokounmpo situation, one that certainly had an impact on Rivers’ tough time in Milwaukee.
