The Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and Under Armour had parted ways back in November this year, which made him a free agent. He is now enjoying his freedom, wearing whatever shoes he wants, and he is bringing his A-game to the court.
In his match against the Phoenix Suns, Curry took the floor wearing Devin Booker’s signature sneaker, Nike Book 1s, further fueling the ongoing buzz around his sneaker-free agency.

Devin Booker Confirms Stephen Curry Personally Reached Out After Under Armour Split
Since parting ways with Under Armour, Curry has leaned into his newfound freedom, turning tunnel walks and warm-ups into a rolling tribute to basketball history and sneaker culture. Against Phoenix, that journey led him directly into Booker’s world.
After the game, Booker addressed Curry’s footwear choice and confirmed that the move wasn’t random but rather part of an ongoing dialogue between the two stars. The Suns star emphasized that he is happy seeing the two-time MVP floating his sneakers.
“He’s in sneaker free agency right now so I know he’s been doing his rounds. He’s been having a theme with every city that he’s playing against.” Booker said. “The day after he’s done with Under Armour he asked for a few pairs and obviously I sent him all the hot ones and I was happy to see him in them tonight.”
In the post-game presser, a reporter asked Booker about recruiting Curry to Nike. The Suns’ star replied, saying, “100%”.
While no deal is imminent, Curry’s recent choices suggest he’s enjoying the process, honoring players and cities along the way rather than rushing toward a permanent destination. As for the match, the Warriors were unable to clinch a victory against the Suns and lost 99-98. The losing skid has now extended to three.
Curry scored just 15 points during his 33 minutes on the court, along with nine rebounds and seven assists. On the other hand, Booker exploded for 25 points with two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes of action. Despite this, Curry is still putting up impressive numbers this season, averaging 28.8 points per game while shooting 47.5% from the field, along with 4.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Overall, the Warriors are struggling, and fans have questioned the roster and the front office. They are a 9-seed in the Western Conference, with more losses than victories. They have suffered 15 defeats and managed to win just 13. Next up, the Warriors will face the Suns again on Saturday night.
