Michael Jordan’s Former Teammate Dennis Rodman Takes a Shot at LeBron James in Shocking Admission

In a recent conversation, retired NBA icon Dennis Rodman makes his feelings known about the evergreen Michael Jordan-LeBron James debate.

The LeBron James-Michael Jordan GOAT debate never truly ends. Two completely different players from different eras, yet fans and former players can’t help but compare these NBA legends. However, most already have their pick locked in.

In a recent conversation, Dennis Rodman, Jordan’s former teammate and NBA legend himself, made his choice crystal clear. And he didn’t hold back.

Why Does Dennis Rodman Think Michael Jordan Was Superior to LeBron James?

During a recent conversation with YouTuber N3on, Rodman discussed James and Jordan. When N3on asked Rodman to pick between prime Jordan or James, the former Bulls forward didn’t hesitate.

“Michael Jordan was too sexy, man, when he had the ball or something like that,” Rodman said. “I mean, LeBron is like a goddamn f–king dump truck. What the f–k man? Michael Jordan sits there dancing like barista coffee. What? And sit there and look at you and just keep doing and making it look so easy,” Rodman told N3on.

This isn’t the first time Rodman has taken shots at James’ game. Back in 2019, on the “Overtime” podcast, the Hall of Famer dismissed James’ skills as too basic for his liking.

As far as Rodman is concerned, James wouldn’t have survived playing against him during his era. “I would’ve locked his a– up,” Rodman said. “LeBron is so easy to play. He’s so f–king easy to play, he don’t have any moves. His game was too simple, he was just big. Now, 260 whatever, six foot eight, six foot nine, that’s the only thing he got pretty much. I played against 7-foot-3 hundred [pounds], so it don’t even matter.”

Amid varying opinions across the basketball world, some fans side with Rodman’s assessment. They point to Jordan’s six championships and his dominance during the 1990s as proof of his superiority. Others argue that comparing players from different eras creates an unfair standard.

James has built his legacy over two decades, capturing four NBA titles with three different franchises. Jordan spent most of his career with the Chicago Bulls, collecting six championships with the franchise.

What Does Hakeem Olajuwon Think About the James vs. Jordan Debate?

Hakeem Olajuwon, another NBA legend who faced Jordan during his prime years, was equally decisive in his GOAT selection.

Speaking during CNBC’s Worldwide Exchange in 2015, Olajuwon said:

“When people start comparing him with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison. Jordan was a far more superior player in a very, very tough league, and very, very creative. That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”

While Olajuwon acknowledged James’ greatness, his preference remained clear. The former Houston Rockets center emphasized Jordan’s creativity and dominance during what he considered a more challenging era.

The GOAT debate continues to divide basketball fans and former players alike. Some include Kobe Bryant in the conversation, while others question whether modern basketball can truly be compared to previous generations. What remains constant is the passion these discussions generate among fans who witnessed both legends play.
