De’Andre Hunter has been a solid forward over his seven seasons in the NBA.
He is currently averaging 14.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 42.3% from the field and 30.8% from three-point range in 43 games (with the Cleveland Cavaliers).
A surprising trade recently sent him to the Sacramento Kings.
De’Andre Hunter Makes First Comments Following Sacramento Kings Trade
Hunter was sent to the Kings in a multi-player deal.
Via Kings.com (on Sunday): “The Sacramento Kings announced today that the team has acquired forward De’Andre Hunter from the Cleveland Cavaliers. As part of a three-team deal with Cleveland and the Bulls, the Cavaliers received Keon Ellis and Dennis Schröder while Chicago acquired Dario Å arić and a 2029 second-round draft pick from Sacramento.”
On Tuesday, Hunter made his first comments about the trade (via James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento).
Hunter: “It’s good energy here. A lot of great coaches that have a lot of experience in the league. Very experienced players who have been good in the league for a while. I’m just excited for a new opportunity… It’s a business, you just gotta roll with the punches.”

Hunter was the fourth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Virginia.
He spent his first five and a half seasons playing for the Atlanta Hawks.
His career averages are 14.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 36.5% from three-point range in 370 games.

As for the Kings, they are currently the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 12-39 record in 51 games.
They are in the middle of a nine-game losing streak.
On Wednesday night, Hunter will make his debut when the Kings host the Memphis Grizzlies in California.
Via Law Murray of The Athletic: “the fun part about all of this is the timeline James Harden went to Arizona State Saturday and was expected to play in Phoenix the next day Sunday, he was downgraded to out due to personal reasons. What changed? De’Andre Hunter got traded to the Sacramento Kings.”
Meanwhile, the Cavs are the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 30-21 record in 51 games.
