Kyrie Irving Made His Feelings Clear About Cooper Flagg

Recently, Kyrie Irving spoke about his teammate.

Irving (h/t Mike Curtis of Dallas Morning News): “Cooper is just an amazing player and that’s not even just gassing it. At 19 years old, doing the things that he’s doing within our league is very special… I don’t want to mince my words either. He’s doing things that some of the greats, even before him, didn’t do. He’s chasing history.”

Flagg recently had a game where he put up 49 points and ten rebounds while shooting 20/29 from the field.

He already looks like a player who will be an All-Star in the next few seasons.

As for Irving, he has yet to appear in a game this season.

The 2016 NBA Champion is coming off a year where he had averages of 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 40.1% from three-point range in 50 games.

Right now, the Mavs are the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 19-35 record in 54 games.

They are in the middle of a nine-game losing streak.

Following the All-Star break, the Mavs will resume action on Friday when they visit Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Mavs last won a title during the 2011 season.

They reached the NBA Finals in 2024.
