Mavericks Announce Bold New Hire Ahead Of Bucks Game

Find out more on a sudden and unexpected new hire that the Dallas Mavericks have made to their upper management.

Just hours before their matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, it has been reported that the Dallas Mavericks are making a significant personnel change. After an offseason marked by drama and bold promises, the Mavericks have started the 2025-2026 NBA season poorly, currently holding a record of three wins and seven losses.

This was the same team that managed to make it all the way to the NBA Finals a little over a year ago. Therefore, the fanbase has been eager for change, with most chants urging the ownership to part ways with their GM, Nico Harrison.

Although the Mavericks have yet to make that decision, the team did make a noteworthy change by bringing on Gina Miller as their new Chief Communications Officer. That said, let us take a closer look and find out more.

Gina Miller Aims To Improve the Strained Relationship Between the Mavericks Organization and the Public

There is no denying that Harrison is the top-ranking Mavs executive that the fan base wants gone. However, the team has decided to make another personnel change. Hiring Miller, who previously led FC Dallas’ communication efforts, is viewed as a move with great potential and impact.

“The Mavericks have hired Gina Miller as their new Chief Communications Officer, a newly created role overseeing corporate comms, basketball comms, and broadcasting. A Dallas native with nearly 30 years in sports media, Miller previously led FC Dallas’ communication efforts.”

After all, Miller will be taking over the role of Chief Communications Officer. Miller will oversee all corporate and basketball operations, essentially assuming the role of public voice and reputation manager for the team. Her duties primarily involve overseeing the team’s communication with the media, the public, and league authorities.

Mavericks CEO Rick Welts believes that Miller’s media relations, corporate strategy, and fan engagement align with the organization’s goal to transform into a global sports brand.

“Gina is an industry powerhouse, highly respected for her strategic leadership in North Texas and beyond…We are incredibly fortunate to add her expertise to our executive team and chart the future together as our franchise grows into a premier sports and entertainment organization.”

Miller has nearly 30 years of experience in the sports industry and is likely to play a significant role in repairing the strained relationship between the Mavericks organization and its fan base. However, the subpar performance of the team, which is currently sitting at three wins and seven losses, is something that even Miller will struggle to justify.

The Mavericks are not favored to secure a win against the Bucks in their upcoming matchup. Additionally, it is safe to say that the team will face a great deal of criticism throughout the course of this season. Fans are left wondering whether Miller will be able to play a role in maintaining peace and providing the organization with a sense of direction.
