Former Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons has been very vocal about his former team since they fired ex-general manager Nico Harrison.
On Tuesday, Parsons made several predictions about the directions the Mavericks could take with Harrison out of the picture. On Wednesday, Parsons shared his thoughts on what he believes should be the first step for Dallas to move in the right direction.

Chandler Parsons Calls for Mavericks Legend to Return
During an episode of “Run It Back,” which aired on Tuesday, Parsons predicted that Dirk Nowitzki could be next in line to take over Harrison’s spot as the Mavericks’ new general manager. Parsons highlighted how beloved Nowitzki is in Dallas and how the German legend could help restore the culture the team had during his playing career.
In the latest episode of the show, Parsons urged the Mavericks to bring in Nowitzki and said it should be the front office’s first move. He noted that Nowitzki opposed Harrison’s decision to trade Luka Dončić last season. Like fans, the German legend expressed his frustrations with the former general manager and reportedly wanted no involvement with the Mavericks as long as Harrison remained in charge.
With that in mind, Parsons believes the Mavericks need someone like Nowitzki, who represents the opposite values of Harrison. He said it could lead Dallas back to success.
“I think the first thing the Mavs should do is hire Dirk Nowitzki,” Parsons said. “He is the most loved icon in Dallas. He clearly separated himself from the entire franchise since the hiring of Nico and the move of Luka. He’s been all on the side of the fans and was frustrated with that move.”
“I think you bring in a guy like that … some sort of role, some sort of opportunity where he can get in front of the crowd,” Parsons continued. “He can go to games. He can kind of have that vibe of Dirk, where they remember the 2011 championship run. That would kind of be the first step for me to kind of get this fan base back.”
