The lights were bright, and the buzz was real as top prospect Cooper Flagg stepped onto the red carpet ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft at Barclays Center. The Duke standout is expected to hear his name called first by the Dallas Mavericks, but it wasn’t just his game that had fans talking. Flagg’s entrance sparked immediate reactions online — and not just from basketball circles.
Something about his arrival signaled he was ready for the spotlight in more ways than one.

With his basketball future just hours from becoming official, Flagg made a different kind of first impression — one that confirmed he’s already thinking like a brand. The 18-year-old arrived in a tailored three-piece navy suit, paired with a white button-down shirt, a black tie, and velvet loafers from Christian Louboutin, along with a luxury brand Hublot’s Big Bang timepiece set with 529 diamonds (approximately 9.9 carats in weight) on his wrist.
Designed by Boss and crafted in Italy from stretch wool, the suit marked the first in a series of fashion moments between Flagg and the label. The color scheme pays homage to the collegiate past, the Blue Devils, and a nod to his likely NBA future with the Mavericks.

“I have seen and paid attention to different guys’ outfits, what they’re wearing in the tunnel,” Flagg told Vogue, which did a spotlight on his look for the life-changing evening. “I’m excited to step up my game and be ready for next year. I think my style, or what I like for portraying myself, is to stay classy, sharp, even simple.”
At Duke, Flagg let his game do the talking. He averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks en route to All-American honors and the Naismith College Player of the Year award. Former Blue Devils coach Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski called him the most talented freshman in the program’s history — no small praise for a school with Duke’s pedigree.

Flagg is also making history off the court. He’s set to become the first No. 1 pick ever from Maine, and only the third player from the state to reach the NBA. His rapid rise has already made waves back home, but his influence stretches far beyond local pride.
New Balance, which has a major facility just outside his hometown, locked him up early with an NIL deal, beating out giants like Nike and Adidas. He’s expected to be the face of their basketball efforts moving forward.

He’s also eyeing the league’s fashion elite. Flagg mentioned Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero as one of the players he’s looked to for style inspiration.

Cooper Flagg showed up like a No. 1 pick. All that’s left is to make it official.
The NBA Draft starts tonight at 8 ET, airing on ESPN and ABC.
