One of the main pieces of that team was future Hall of Famer Klay Thompson (who is currently with the Dallas Mavericks).
Cooper Flagg Made His Feelings Clear About The Golden State Warriors
Recently, Mavs star Cooper Flagg spoke about the Warriors team that featured his now teammate (h/t DLLS Mavs).

In that span, Thompson reached five All-Star Games and established himself as one of the best shooting guards in league history.
He has been with the Mavs for each of the previous two seasons.

The Warriors last won a title during the 2022 season.
They are currently the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 21-19 record in 40 games.
Last season, the Warriors lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

As for Flagg, he was the first pick in the 2025 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball at Duke.
He is currently averaging 19.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 48.0% from the field and 29.3% from three-point range in 39 games.

The Mavs are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 15-25 record in 40 games.
They are coming off a 113-105 victory over the Brooklyn Nets (at home).

The Mavs and Warriors played on Christmas (with the Warriors winning by a score of 126-116).
Flagg finished the loss with 27 points, six rebounds and five assists.
On January 22, the Mavs will host the Warriors in Dallas.
They are 11-10 in 21 games at home.
