Collin Sexton Fantasy Outlook: Should You Draft the Charlotte Hornets Point Guard This Year?

Should you draft Collin Sexton in fantasy basketball this year? Latest fantasy projection for the Charlotte Hornets point guard.

It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.

Should you draft Collin Sexton this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Charlotte Hornets Point Guard.

Should You Draft Collin Sexton in Fantasy Basketball?

Back in June, the Charlotte Hornets acquired Collin Sexton in a trade with the Utah Jazz. Last season, Sexton averaged 18.4 points, 4.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 3-pointers, and 0.7 steals on 48.0/40.6/86.5 shooting splits. Sexton has shown that he can score the ball and put up impressive numbers when he’s starting.

However, the question is whether Sexton will get enough minutes off the bench behind LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller to put up his usual numbers. The fact that the Hornets just waived Spencer Dinwiddie certainly helps Sexton, as it’s less competition for the sixth-man role.

Sexton is going pretty late in drafts, and he’s a high-floor veteran who has a capped ceiling due to his role. If you are looking for a player with a higher ceiling, perhaps target someone like Brooklyn Nets rookie Egor Demin, Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe, New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi — all of whom have a later ADP than Sexton.
