A lottery pick in 2018, Collin Sexton is moving to his third team in the league after the Utah Jazz agreed to a trade with the Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkić. After spending three seasons with the Jazz, Sexton is heading to new pastures in Charlotte, potentially as the backup to LaMelo Ball.
However, as he makes the move to the Hornets, we take a look at his career since first coming into the league with the Cleveland Cavaliers from a financial standpoint.
What Is Collin Sexton’s Contract?
After his rookie-scale deal came to an end, Sexton and the Cavaliers agreed on a four-year extension worth $70.95 million. The entire sum was guaranteed to the two-way guard, while giving him an average annual salary of $17,737,500.
This season, he’s entering the final year of his deal. However, this wasn’t the only contract Sexton has signed during his time in the NBA. Previously, after coming in as a first-round pick, he signed the standard rookie contract of four years and $20,175,111.
What Is Sexton’s Salary?
Entering the final year of his deal, Sexton was part of a trade to the Hornets, as they continue to stack the roster with underrated players this offseason. In exchange for Sexton and a second-round pick, the Jazz are getting back Jusuf Nurkić.

Set to enter unrestricted free agency, Charlotte might have to pay a sweet buck to keep Sexton in the long haul. However, for the upcoming 2025-26 season, the likely backup to Ball is set to earn $18.975 million while carrying an equivalent cap hit and dead cap value.
So far, he’s made $72,052,301 in the NBA. But the upcoming year should take that number even closer to a full 100 at $91,027,301.
What Is Sexton’s Net Worth?
As it currently stands, and per most sources online, Sexton has a net worth of around $10 million. While his salary from contracts signed in the NBA makes up a large chunk of his value, it isn’t the only form of income for the star guard.
Thanks to his reputation and stature as an NBA player, Sexton is also a popular name for brands seeking various endorsements and deals. He already has deals in place with various brands.
His current endorsement catalogue includes the evergreen Nike while also taking some unusual routes, like Ghurka for Travel Bags and a mobile game called Crash On The Run. Additionally, he has partnered with ReAthlete.
