Cleveland Cavaliers Star Donovan Mitchell Made His Feelings Clear About LeBron James

Donovan Mitchell spoke about former Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.

LeBron James will always be known as the best player to ever play for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The future Hall of Famer is still one of the best players in the entire NBA at 41.

He is averaging 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 50.2% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range in 36 games for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Cavaliers Star Donovan Mitchell Asked About LeBron James

With James becoming a free agent this summer, there have been many rumors about his potential return to Cleveland.

At All-Star weekend, current Cavs star Donovan Mitchell was asked for his feelings about James (h/t @HoodiGarland).

Mitchell: “In year 23, for him to be doing what he’s doing is always impressive… You look at as like the longevity of it, how he takes care of his body, how he takes care of his mind, how he goes out there and still performs at a high level…. He’s done a lot for our game and it’s just a blessing to be able to be around that.”

Mitchell was traded to the Cavs (via the Utah Jazz) during the summer of 2022.

He is in the middle of his fourth year playing for the franchise.

In that span, Mitchell has helped the Cavs become one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Mitchell went into the All-Star break with outstanding averages of 29.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 48.7% from the field and 37.6% from three-point range in 51 games.

The Cavs have also added James Harden, which makes them one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

Via @BeardDaDonDonovan: “Mitchell’s stats without James Harden: — 28.8 PPG — 4.6 RPG — 5.9 APG — 0.2 BPG — 1.5 SPG With James Harden: — 32.3 PPG — 2 RPG — 6.3 APG — 1.3 BPG — 2 SPG:”

The Cavs are currently the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-21 record in 55 games.

They are in the middle of a five-game winning streak (and have won nine out of their last ten).

Following the All-Star break, the Cavs will resume action on Thursday when they host the Brooklyn Nets in Ohio.

There will more than likely be a lot more speculation surrounding James returning to the Cavs over the next five months.
