Chris Paul was spotted in attendance at the San Antonio Spurs’ most recent game against the OKC Thunder. Before signing with the Los Angeles Clippers this season, Paul suited up with the Spurs in the 2024-25 season, during which he played all 82 regular-season games.
Despite his short stint with the team, Paul built solid relationships with his teammates in San Antonio. That much was apparent when Victor Wembanyama spotted Paul sitting courtside during their postgame celebration.
Chris Paul Shows Love for His Former Teammate, Victor Wembanyama
The Spurs took on the Thunder on Saturday in a high-stakes matchup. San Antonio managed to narrowly upset Oklahoma City, 111-109, in a nail-biting game that allowed the Spurs to advance to the NBA Cup finals.
Everything fell into place for the Spurs on Saturday. Not only did they beat the defending NBA champions, but the game also marked the return of Wembanyama to the lineup after dealing with a left calf strain.
In his highly anticipated first return, Wembanyama didn’t look rusty, putting up 22 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and one steal over just 21 minutes.
After the Spurs pulled off an upset, Wembanyama was all smiles as he spotted his former teammate in the audience. CP3 gave the towering Frenchman his flowers for a remarkable return from injury.
“Love you, man,” Paul said to Wembanyama after hugging it out during the postgame celebration.
After the Spurs’ big win in Vegas, Chris Paul- who contributed to the evolution of both OKC and San Antonio- called over Victor Wembanyama.
“Love you, man!” he told his former teammate as they hugged it out.

The fact San Antonio managed to upend Oklahoma City, who only had one loss this season before Saturday’s game, proved that Wemby is the missing piece to the Spurs’ puzzle if they wish to contend for a title this year.
The Spurs are now heading to the NBA Cup finals and are set to face off against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Seeing how San Antonio beat two heavy hitters in the Western Conference — namely, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Thunder — they have all the momentum on their side heading into Tuesday’s clash.
As of this writing, Wembanyama seems to be in the clear heading into Tuesday’s game. Fortunately for the Spurs, Wemby appeared to come out of his first game back unscathed, and he could certainly be in line to play an even bigger role against New York.
