As for the Bulls, they are currently the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 24-25 record in 49 games.
They have gone 6-4 over their last ten.
Following the Heat, the Bulls will play their next game on Tuesday when they visit Kyle Kuzma and the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin.
The Bulls are coming off a season where they missed the NBA playoffs for the third straight year.
They have been unable to win a playoff series since 2015 when Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose were still on the roster.
Carter will be an intriguing free agent for a contender to consider adding to their bench for the postseason.
