Celtics Star Jaylen Brown Rips NBA All-Star Voting Results With 4-Word Diss

Jaylen Brown agrees NBA All-Star voting is a popularity contest after first 2026 results spark debate about deserving players being snubbed.

We are just a few days away from entering the new year. Typically, in each NBA season, as the new year approaches, the league opens All-Star voting to the fans. This is to determine as early as possible who would get an All-Star nod before the game. The 2026 All-Star game will take place on Feb. 15 in Los Angeles.

With just over a couple of months to go, the NBA released the first wave of votes since commencing the voting process. While there are many deserving names on the current All-Star list, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown didn’t seem pleased with the results.

Jaylen Brown Agrees With Former All-Star’s Sentiments

Brown went on social media to express his thoughts on the first wave of results for the All-Star voting this season. The Celtics star responded to a post by former NBA All-Star Michael Redd, who reposted the image of results uploaded by the league on X.

Redd went on to rant about how some of the other players aren’t getting the spotlight they deserve. He pointed out that the All-Star voting is still a popularity contest, which is somewhat unfair because even players who don’t deserve the nod in a given year still get to play in the All-Star Game.

“Initial NBA All-Star returns are in and… it’s still a popularity contest,” Redd wrote on X. “These votes are based on name recognition, which comes from past performance, social media presence, and off-field narratives. Not necessarily who’s having the best season right now.”

“Every year, guys who absolutely deserve it get left off because someone with six All-Star appearances is getting voted in for their seventh even when they probably shouldn’t,” Redd continued. “ESPN always runs a sorta snub list. It’s usually young players in small markets or guys having career years who just don’t have the brand yet.”

“Let’s give them some flowers while they’re still in the game,” Redd concluded.

Brown took notice of Redd’s post on social media and agreed with the former All-Star’s sentiments.

“I agree PR contest,” Brown wrote on X.

As sad as it may sound, there have been many All-Star snubs over the years due to their lack of popularity. However, with still a couple of months away from the 2026 All-Star game, these snubs still have time to try and win the hearts of fans to enter the contest.
