The Milwaukee Bucks announced Monday that they have waived guard Cam Thomas, whom they had signed after his release from the Brooklyn Nets earlier in the 2025-26 season.
Thomas and the Bucks had previously agreed to a one-year veteran minimum deal for the remainder of the season. He played in 18 games for Milwaukee, averaging 10.7 points on 43.1% shooting, along with 1.9 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game.

NBA World Reacts to Bucks Waiving Cam Thomas
NBA insider Shams Charania reported Monday that Milwaukee waived Thomas after only several weeks of play. What’s more interesting is that it has only been a few weeks since head coach Doc Rivers compared Thomas to the likes of Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford.

Beyond roster adjustments, reports suggest that tensions were building in the locker room. Prior to his exit from the Brooklyn Nets in February, Thomas was said to have had issues with teammates and coaches.
Reports indicate similar concerns in Milwaukee, with frustration over his one-dimensional play style.
Defy The Odds CEO Zay The Goat reacted by suggesting Thomas should reconsider his representation: “He gotta fire his agent then look himself in the mirror.”

Fan account BKN 85 speculated that Thomas may be out of the league soon: “He’s out of the league next year, MAYBE one more year on the min, then China. Way too much time was wasted on Nets Twitter talking about this guy, he doesn’t get it and never will very telling that the Bucks cut him now.”
