Bulls’ Updated Depth Chart: A Look at Chicago’s New Starting Lineup After Multiple Trades

The Chicago Bulls made two pivotal trades today. After the moves they've made, here's what the Bulls depth chart looks like going forward.

The Chicago Bulls yet again have one foot in towards pushing for a playoff spot and tanking. This season, however, they have been surprisingly busy with the NBA Trade Deadline hours away. But after the moves they’ve made, what does the Bulls’ depth chart look like now?

Projecting the Bulls’ Depth Chart After Their Trades

The Bulls made two notable trades today. First, they traded Kevin Huerter and Dario Šarić to the Detroit Pistons in a three-way trade that netted them Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr., first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Then, they swapped Nikola Vučević for Anfernee Simons, first reported by Charania.

The common belief at the moment is that the Bulls plan to waive Conley, which makes sense, as he has no business being on a non-playoff contender like Chicago. Here’s what the Bulls’ depth chart looks like after the trade. The first name listed for each position is the projected starter.

Point guard: Josh Giddey, Simons, Tre Jones
Shooting Guard: Coby White, Jaden Ivey, Ayo Dosunmu
Small forward: Isaac Okoro, Dalen Terry, Julian Phillips
Power forward: Matas Buzelis, Patrick Williams
Center:
Jalen Smith, Lachlan Olbrich, Zach Collins

With or without Conley, the Bulls roster makeup currently doesn’t make much sense. Of course, when was the last time it did? Many speculate that with these moves, White’s time in the Windy City is coming to an end.

Adding Ivey gives the Bulls more youth. While he’s definitely struggled a bit since entering the league, he’s shown his talent. That sounds pretty familiar, as Giddey was a similar prospect when Chicago acquired him, and now he’s found his footing with the Bulls.

This all points to Chicago making more moves that would set them up for a rebuild. Memphis has pretty much signaled that it’s giving up after the blockbuster Jaren Jackson Jr. trade. This is a loaded draft class, and the Bulls would benefit big time from adding a young prospect to a team that has some blossoming talent on it.

It will all depend on what Chicago decides to do next. It doesn’t seem like Simons would make much sense on the roster either, but the Bulls have some decisions to make.
