Buddy Hield Blames Jimmy Butler III for ‘Wardrobe Malfunction’ in Hilarious Postgame Interaction

The game between the Warriors and the Timberwolves was delayed after Buddy Hield donned the wrong shorts and blamed Jimmy Butler III for it.

No, Stephen Curry? No problem. The Golden State Warriors decimated the Minnesota Timberwolves and took home a 1-0 lead in the playoff series. Jimmy Butler III and Buddy Hield came in firing to give the team a sensational boost and close off the game. On the other hand, the match didn’t start well for the Warriors.

After Curry lost to a hamstring strain injury, the game was delayed in the beginning, courtesy of a wardrobe malfunction from Hield. The player looked puzzled; most fans would not have seen this happen on a basketball court.

Thus, in his explanation during the post-game press conference with Butler, he blamed it on his counterpart.

Buddy Hield Pins Blame On Jimmy Butler III

At 11:00 in the first quarter, a wardrobe malfunction delayed the game for some minutes before it got going. Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch noticed Hield’s shorts and pointed them out to the officials. The officials told him to change his shorts and sent him to the locker room.

Well, guess who the prankster may be? According to Hield, Butler came to the party and might have done something at the drop of a hat.

Hield mentioned, “Jimmy switched it out. That was Jimmy’s fault. Jimmy switched it out, and that’s what happens. I was looking for my shorts, and I thought that was the right one, and he said, ‘Put these on,’ and that’s what happened.”

A perplexed Butler replied, “That’s what you’re going with?”

Hield had no doubts regarding it and concluded, “It’s Jimmy’s fault. His locker is next to my locker. I was looking for my shorts, and he’s like, ‘Yo, I can’t find my shorts.’ Oh, I see there. And after that, I got a fine for it. It’s all cool. It’s Jimmy’s fault. Blame Jimmy.”

Although there’s no particular amount for a wardrobe malfunction penalty, Hield could probably receive a fine for the game delay. But on the court, the duo combined to score 44 points. They changed the game and took charge after Curry’s injury.

While Butler grabbed 11 rebounds and eight assists, instructing teammates to take their spots and passing the ball for open looks, Hield used those passes to convert five massive three-pointers. They played top defense together and guarded multiple players on different possessions.

Hence, it could be an ideal series for the duo, who could become the team’s leading stars without Curry. Forget the wardrobe malfunction; Hield and Butler are entertaining duos on and off the court.
