BREAKING: NBA World Reacts To Atlanta Hawks-Portland Trail Blazers Trade

On Sunday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Krejčí is being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Via Charania: “The Atlanta Hawks are trading guard Vit Krejci to the Portland Trail Blazers for Duop Reath and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Krejci has averaged 9 points and 2.2 3-pointers made per game on 42.3% shooting, which ranks top 20 in the NBA.”

Here’s what people around the NBA world were saying about the deal:

@DuckingTheTax: “Think the Kispert/CJ addition kinda crowded out Krejci, but he has been a legit rotation guy this year. Is on a minimum contract for 2 more years after this year. Should definitely help out in Portland.”

Yahoo Sports: “BREAKING: The Atlanta Hawks are trading guard Vit Krejci to the Portland Trail Blazers for Duop Reath and two future second-round picks, per @ShamsCharania . The move allows Atlanta to create roster space with seven future second-round picks at their disposal.”

Keith Smith: “Interesting trade between the Blazers and Hawks. Krejci is a helpful player, but had been replaced in Atlanta by Corey Kispert in the same role. Reath is out for the season, so Atlanta likely waives him to create a roster spot. Christian Koloko conversion eventually? No salary or roster relief for Portland in this. Still need to create a couple of roster spots to convert Sidy Cissoko and Caleb Love.”

@MasterClutch_: “Vit Krejci is a certainly solid shooter, averaging 9.0 points with 42.3% from three (TOP 20 in the NBA) One of the Blazers’ weaknesses is this area and Krejci will undoubtedly be able to contribute in this regard from the second unit Also, there’s little risk in the trade, Duop Reath was announced as out for the entire season just a few days ago It’s worth trying for a couple of seconds”

@YossiGozlan: “Vit Krejci was very productive at the minimum but became expendable after the Hawks acquired Corey Kispert. They now have 7 second-round picks and have plenty of tax space to take on more bad money. They’d likely cut Duop Reath/N’Faly Dante to free a roster spot to do so.”
