Eric Gordon was once among the best shooters in the NBA.
However, the 37-year-old is nearing the end of his career, averaging just 5.5 points per contest while shooting 57.1% from the field in six games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
This week, Gordon was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Via Grizzlies PR (on Thursday): “The @memgrizz today announced the team acquired Eric Gordon and a 2032 second round draft pick swap from the Philadelphia 76ers. In a related move, the Grizzlies waived Georges Niang.”

Gordon could be an intriguing player for a title contender to add to their bench.
His career averages are 15.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range in 931 games.
He has also spent time playing for the LA Clippers, New Orleans Hornets and Houston Rockets.

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and 3-7 over their last ten).

The Grizzlies are coming off a season where they missed the NBA playoffs.
Over the last eight months, they have made major changes to their roster by trading away Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane.
Via Bryson Wright: “The Memphis Grizzlies are a cautionary tale. In 2022 they had one of the best young cores in the NBA and were supposed to be competing for Championships by now, 4 years later and they’re starting over You never have as much time as you think”
Following Friday’s game, the Grizzlies will remain in Portland to play the Trail Blazers (again) on Saturday.
