Just months after signing him, the New York Knicks are trading Guerschon Yabusele to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Dalen Terry.
ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania reported the trade first in a post on X.

Yabusele, who was a first-round pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft, is averaging 2.7 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game this season. Yabusele played his first two seasons with the Celtics, then played last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. He was in his first season with the Knicks before being dealt to the Bulls.
Terry, who was a first-round draft pick by the Bulls in the 2022 NBA Draft, is averaging 3.5 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, and is shooting 44.1% from the floor. Terry has played all four of his NBA seasons with the Bulls before being traded on Wednesday night.
According to Spotrac, Yabusele signed a two-year, $11,275,000 contract with the 76ers, including $11,275,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $5,637,500.
In the 2025-26 NBA season, Yabusele is earning a base salary of $5,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $5,500,000 and a dead cap value of $5,500,000.
Terry signed a four-year, $15,451,758 contract with the Bulls, including $6,542,160 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $3,862,940. In 2025-26, Terry is earning a base salary of $5,399,118, while carrying a cap hit of $5,399,118.
The Knicks are currently tied with the Celtics for first place in the NBA’s Atlantic Division with identical 33-18 records. The Knicks, on Wednesday night, were pushed to double overtime, but managed to defeat the visiting Denver Nuggets 134-127.
Knicks head coach Mike Brown might be able to use Terry off the bench to give players like Jalen Brunson a breather when needed during games.
As for the Bulls, they are in third place in the Central Division, 14 games behind the first-place Detroit Pistons and six games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are in second place. Chicago has lost two in a row and will look to snap that skid in a road game on Thursday night against the Toronto Raptors.
Yabusele gets a chance to prove himself with the Bulls and maybe help the team get into position for the NBA playoffs this season.

Bulls need a nee GM tech can you get value for traded players and get first round picks
Bad Bulls deal. We traded a 3022 first round pick Dale and Teri for a 2016 first round pick that has no stats to justify the trade.
